How to check for vaginal infection (Diagnosis):

You can check a vaginal infection by checking how frequent itching is happening at vaginal area. Problem during urination/ burning sensation. You could have symptoms like: bad smell (fishy smell), and the discharge from your vagina have pungent a odor to it.
It is not always possible to reliably distinguish bacterial vaginosis from other vaginal infections based on the symptoms. To determine whether a woman has vaginosis, the gynecologist examines the vagina and takes a sample of vaginal secretions.

Symptoms you may have if you have a infection:

1.Bacterial vaginosis causes no symptoms in at least half of women. When it becomes noticeable, it is usually a thin, off-white vaginal discharge that smells distinctly “fishy” and is very uncomfortable for many women. The odor often increases after sexual intercourse and during menstruation.

2.Complaints such as itching, burning and dryness of the vagina are more likely to indicate inflammation of the vagina (vaginitis).

3.The area around the entrance to the vagina is often red and the lining of the vagina is swollen. There may also be problems with urination and sexual intercourse.

Risk factors:

The risk of vaginosis increases if women are very sexually active - for example, if they have a new sexual partner or change them often.
Excessive intimate hygiene or hormonal changes can disrupt the vaginal flora and promote vaginosis.

Frequency and course:

Bacterial vaginosis is one of the most common vaginal infections. It is estimated that about 5 out of 100 women are affected. In about a third of women.
